Cookies and storage

Last updated September 2026. A short, honest summary of what HEPP stores on your device.

First draft for the Basingstoke beta. Highlighted items still need real details filling in and this wording has not been reviewed by a solicitor.

Essential only

HEPP uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items, and they are all essential to making the app work. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not use third-party tracking or profiling cookies.

What we store

  • Sign-in and session: keeps you signed in securely as you move between screens, and signs you out when you choose to.
  • Security: helps protect accounts against misuse and confirms requests come from your signed-in session.
  • Essential app state: remembers small things needed for the app to behave sensibly, such as a job you are part way through posting or a prompt you have dismissed.

Why there is no cookie banner

Under UK rules, consent is needed for non-essential cookies such as analytics, advertising and tracking. HEPP does not currently use any of those, so there is nothing to ask you to consent to. If we ever add non-essential cookies, we will add a proper consent choice first and update this page.

Managing them

You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Because our cookies are essential, clearing them will sign you out and may lose an unfinished job post.
